bernie the temps are employed, but by the agency. The agency supplies a service, which can be taken up and cancelled, without responsibility to the workers. valdez, I think it was McDonald's, hence Mac Contracts...

Plus there was a story a while ago about staff working in Pizza Express having to hand back their tips. Then it turned out the practice was widespread
