picked a girl up who immediately apologised that she probably smelt a bit as she had been on the road for a few days, offered the use of my facilities in my van which she used, finished up living with her for three years. the moral of this story is, NEVER EVER pick up lone females As the "lift"lasted 3 years it cant have been all bad,or did she simply refuse to leave?

i thought we were happy, but came home one day after a week away working and she was gone with all her stuff, never heard from her again, that was 15 years ago That must of been a bad day, someone just going with no word.Have you ever tried to trace her to ask her why?A lot of people do that ,just click off and gone with no explanation, leaves the person left behind with a constant question mark and no closure.A friend of many years did that to me a while ago,I still dont know why.Checked my actions and obituaries drew a blank on both.

That only works Bernie if you have correct details to start with and that site is about lineage not a persons current whereabouts.Ive heard a lot before of appearances and vanishings.A woman answered a housekeeping job with a farmer in the wilds, was there a good while then legged it one day.She was on the run from police gave a fake name and was rumbled when she used a card for a breakdown service.Another female turned up at a friends farm with a horse and cart and child, stayed awhile, got involved with someone there, moved in.Still there 20 years later. She would never say where she came from.People want to be away at times for many reasons, breakdown, abuse, cops and there are many ways to do so.Get a job somewhere far away from home, use a different name.So long as you have funds,or find someone to support you and keep off dhss etc,you can stay lost.

as cricket says, tis quite easy to disappear and unless you have committed a serious crime the police are not really bothered, after all it is not illegal to call yourself by a new name and live under that name, for instance i have three birth certificates all me but from different countries in different names and legally obtained.this what delving into your own ancestry can bring
