Nessy

I thought the man that took the most famous photo in the 1920s said it was a fake?
Could still be a Nessie I suppose

i dont think there is a Nessy but brings a lot of money into the area was camped at side of loch Ness and asked warden if has seen it he said now laddie dont tell anybody but i feed it a biscuit every morning

Not a lot of people know this but in around 1973-4 a comprehensive sweep of Loch Ness took place under intense secrecy. The army- some 250 soldiers, carried a nuclear submarine over land and launched it into the water at night. The mission was to determine once and for all if anything was down there. They found nothing. Now, heres the thing, the hunt had a double purpose which I can now reveal because it was abandoned, and that was, If they found nothing in the loch, it was deemed safe to build a mechanical Nessie.
When Thatcher got wind that a ship yard was being misused for the purpose of model building she put a stop to it. The explanation for the model was that a mechanical Nessie would always be on hand to divert attention from unfavourable news items. Thats the UK civil service for you, always brown nosing.
My Pal Rollo was an investigative journo, and as related to me the mystery further deepened when the mechanical, rumoured to have been finished on the QT, disappeared.
Its though a Russian Oligarch purchased it for the keks. Outfitting it to carry missiles, its though he now tours the oceans terrorizing sea life and sinking small boats. Periodically fuzzy military satellite images purport to show him and crew on deckchairs sunbathing on the back of Nessie playing Pétanque, but I cant confirm it as its classified and even google earth has blank patches supposedly protecting sensitive areas but if you carefully take a corner of a wet hanky to the monitor screen and gently rub you should just be able to see it.
So mind how you go on your next cruise, when you lean over to stroke a whale, there may well be a lot more just below the surface !

Maybe they will find Nessie one day, the great mythical beastie washed up on the shore strangled with fishing twine,belly full of plastic.The wonder, myths and intrigue gone forever in the wash of the vast trash pile humans are turning this amazing planet into.
