Yes he is vw.still no name.been busy ringing vets since 3,bloody goat going down with coccidia,we think.they 've had it here in the past.I've not got a clue, but they reckon they go fast with it🙁,and no ones got any meds,so also poo collecting in all pens to send for testing ..hens too,as routine..no wonder farmers are always knackered The trouble being coccidiosis is endemic in wildlife and wild birds as are mycoplasma viruses. Prevention is easier and cheaper than cure. I used to have disinfect regularly and changing damp to dry bedding often helps prevent the breeding of bacteria and viruses. It was a bightmare when i kept hundreds of chickens. Smallholder magazine is good for small livestock issues. Chickens etc poultrykeeper.com/digestive-system-problems/coccidiosis-in-chickens/

Yes I read most wild animals have it from birth, but get immune to it.it loves the damp too..for some reason the boss decided to dump 2 big round bales in their pen, which floods, now they 've spread.. it's like a sponge, breeding who knows what, and causing hoof problems...and guess who's cleaning out in the morning?🙄

Get Poultry Shield its for red mite but also a good all round sanitiser and disinfectant for chicken housing. If the area gets wet regularly your better off with wood chippings or dust free wood chip horse bedding.I used to buy it in big bales.Straw isnt good for chicken bedding because its ideal breeding ground for mites and bacteria and rats love it. Wood chip is easier to clean out and recycle as compost.

The orange dust is probably diatamceous earth, they eat bugs and mites....All good but the poultry shield is a disinfectant you dilute with water like bleach and spray like.It gets into all the cracks and soaks into wood. Mites usually start becominga visible problem in warmer weather.
Ive had goats, Ive not found much they wont eat..its a big reason why theres so much desert.

Red mite . One word . Creosote , full monty , not 'modern'shit. Still available in 25 ltr drums from good farm supplies . Blasting cracks with a blow lamp can have interesting results too, best done before crosoting if you dont want super interesting fire engine visit. . Diatamceous earth is ok for dusting chickens themselves, under wings , back of neck and vent, and is good for lice (wild bird spread).

Yeah i was going to say proper creosote but its diffficult to get hold of. Farm supplies round here wint let you have it without proof youre a real farmer..same with a lot of stuff now. The proper smelly creosote was very effective keeping away mites ticks fleas flies and neighbours. I had a flea infestation in a landrover till i put a few creosotey rags in the side storage boxes. Job done.
Ive gone the blowtorch or garden weed fire wand route as well thats effective if youre careful not to burn the coop down obviously.
Engine quickstart spray is good for instant death of nests of mites in cracks.
Almost neat jeyes painted about is also good disinfector.
Obviously youre not allowed to do a lot of this now for saving the environment reasons but youre allowed to pump billions of gallons of shit and meat factory waste into rivers totally risk free if the government likes you and youre a water or meat company.
Its tiresome dealing with pests tho, glad i dont have to do it on that scale anymore.
