I do wish I was one of those people that did lots of jobs little and often so they didn't build up into such big tasks. But I never do, it always ends up being a huge thing that takes forever, looks nice for about ten minutes and then the cycle starts again! LOl

You cant beat a bit of era based natural squallor, Thatcherite 80's is quite choice. Im glad i live in a trailer, the thought of cleaning multiple rooms again..and doing decorating as well is just too horrible to contemplate.

I drew the line early on chooks in the house . I loved living in my trailer , trucks , benders and tipis , but got sucked into land facsism as fed up wiv goverment bashism . I think in my ideal world I would live in a bender in the Paravati Valley , but a rickity house on a hill in the foot hills of the Black Mountains , is a good compromise as Ma needs electric for her biltong dryer .

I've been cleaning out Iris, ready to refit her, though since I can't drive her it seems a strange hobby. Still, at least I can use her as a kitchen again.
My standards are (very) low, but even so she was disgusting after rats got in through the end of the year. It will be nice to be able to cook on the hob again.

Rats. Been there. I used a whole bottle of bleach before I converted ours, I suspect there's still some nasty stuff up in the headlining but it's a good reason not to take it down.

Since the cat died , were plagued with a couple of robins constantly coming in the house if the doors are left open , and i confirm bread board is no1 shitting spot !

Watch out for those robins, we had one try to build a nest on a kitchen shelf not once but twice!

I once had blackbirds nest in the engine bay of my land rover, and old series three which was my only transport at the time.

I'm definitely going to go for the dogs and wood burning, Bungo It is definitely harder if it's a smaller job, there's always something else that needs doing more. I wouldn't want a show home but I would like to not inwardly groan when I walk into a room sometimes lol

Oh my days I can't do rats, too many James Herbert books when I was younger, they scare the life out of me. I hope they don't come back, Parrot! There are nicer visitors lol

I like rats, gist, I had one as a pet when I was 15; this was long before people kept them. He was so intelligent and fun, I used to take him to school with me, everywhere really.
However, I don't want them coming in my bus and trashing it, so it's not just the cleaning, it's also dissuading them for trying to find their way back in.
