Crap here also..blowing a hooley and horizontal rain. The river is now 2.5 metres higher than normal and a large estuary...the gulls and waterbirds are enjoying it though. Roads here like rivers. Having a medicinal Jamesons to warm up after getting le drenching. Good to see you got the Jamesons, Cris. I took your tip and visited the nearest Asda, and saw in the New Year with a dram or two.... Bought the O/H a bottle of her favourite Limoncello, so the Jamesons will be lasting a while longer....

Looked on freecycle? usually excess building materials going freebies on there. Doing the free site rounds , but can't get of FB market place as I like stalking the sellers 50 % of ads are scammers . 75 year old biddy with 15 bmws all half the market price ....its hilarious , but does eat away time I could be better employed with . I am probably going to put up a small pole barn to keep tractor under , topper and a few other bits , but being of the thrifty persuasion , I only want to pay for roofing sheets . Probably corregated Iron , as all my other out buildings have corregated roof and I can get special good price for you sir localy . I have a fair bit of timber all ready . Its the poles , and I might have to wait till I can take tractor on road to get them as I want them to be as thick as telegragh poles . maybe a bit thicker as then I might get away with just 2 , by attatching other end to roof to a stable side ? Will see . Planning has been approved by counciller Minty who could see no reason it would have a negative impact on hay getting though and approved of the prospect of less mud , as tarmac has been discovered where one 9 inch deep mud lay during me following the instructions in the Ladybird Classic ' Daddy's got a Tractor !' on the learning to grade chapter .

As long as the chainsaw is working, it is far fast to do damage than a sword. Big long swords are heavy, used primarily to bludgeon an opponent. Don't get em first time you have to re-manouver by which time chainsaw is chipping your arms off.
If you are using a lightweight rapier, you tend to need to get in close to stab someone who is ducking and chopping your legs off. If you've practiced juggling with chainsaws - and why wouldn't you? You will be reasonably accurate if you throw it at your opponent so you don't need to get within sword length.
Of course, if your chainsaw is electric you're stuffed, and if your opponent is also skilled with juggling, all bets are off. ๐

I don't like fighting really , but how about compromise , The fold out garden pruning saw ?. I actually know some one that bought one down the pub as protection the night it was meant to kick of in our circle. It was not our normal pub in the village, we went in only sunday lunch time to raid the nuts and cheese cubes on the bar . This pissed the regulars off even though we never touched the cockles or whelks and unkind words were spoken even though it was the sabbath and been celebrated with nibbles . . The landlord did get a black eye , representing the pub/locals . Ourside , a tooth was made loose on black eye giver . Everyone else ? just a bit of shouting . Landloords son burst into tears which was pretty cool ?

Of course, if your chainsaw is electric you're stuffed, and if your opponent is also skilled with juggling, all bets are off. ๐ Theres actually a famous English swordsman - who's name i forgot for now -but trains folks in swordsmanship and trains actors in it as well who can handle a heavy broadsword and a longsword faster than most peeps could handle a penknife...or even a chainsaw. Ive got a video of him somewhere. I think most trained martial arts swords persons would have your arms and head off before you even thought about wielding a chainsaw. A minor detail unless its a throwing knife or throwing axe its not a wise thing to throw your main weapon..for one it can only go in one direction and can be dodged by your intended victim so now moving on to second point its leaving you weaponless .remember you just threw your main offense and defence tool away...oops... unless youre a martial artist youre doomed....minor point chainsaw chains stop when you take your finger off the throttle. Electric chainsaw with a cord might help because you can use the cord as an offensive or defensive tool.

Well I am not really into chainsaws these days, I have to admit; I can never get them to fire up.
For this reason I'm going to gracefully concede to the more violent types, have a nice cup of cocoa and polish my axes.
