Just got back home, what a fucking day! Sat for 41/2 hrs at Malton then decided to detour as ladycop said probably be shut all night. Ended up in pitch black open countryside then came across some big concrete blocks to narrow the road. Unfortunately they were slightly narrower than my bus, but had to squeeze through as I was blocking the road😕 Not much damage, just minor cosmetic so not too bothered. Sleeping outside the yard tonight, bit tight to park in the dark. Anyway, jam butty & pot of tea then its sleepy bear time...🐻👍😴

just catching up on a load of admin paperwork malarkey for BB - and unopened, quite interesting emails, ever heard of "Solar Foods" - not sure what I think about this, it feels a bit creepy, but mebbe that's 'cos I'm old school (as yet) - never too late to learn though :0) giving it some thought, but not too much xx "Growing food with a new kind of farm, Solein is produced by fermentation in a bioreactor, which does not release methane or CO₂. “We are experiencing a revolution of food technology — and the agricultural sector as a whole — that corresponds to where information technology was in the late 1980s. The cards are being dealt now to the players who will lead an emerging new industry, and with it, a new era of humankind. What does this all mean? It means that meat will continue to be eaten but killing animals can be skipped. It means eggs will still be eaten but no poultry will be required to produce them. It means ice cream will be enjoyed as before but without the cows. The technology already exists to do all this.” –Pasi Vainikka, CEO of Solar Foods There are ways to change how we farm or rethink it completely to not be dependent on land. There are technological land-saving tweaks like vertical farms or hydroponic farms, but a solution that could dramatically change our land use is growing food (and especially protein) with the elements found in air. This is what we are doing at Solar Foods with our product Solein, created out of thin air. A Solein ‘farm’ that would produce the same amount of protein would emit no methane. It is not plant-based but microbe-based instead. And the feed it uses to grow, along with some additional basic nutrients, are all found in simple air. It uses a tiny fraction of the water, land and feedstock needed for meat or even plants. Alternative sources of protein are a solution that will allow people to maintain their standard of living, abundant in proteins, while not adding to the huge list of environmental and ethical problems. Biodiversity is the key to a more stable and flourishing world that humanity will fare better in too. “You can’t scale up a planet, so we need technologies that can.” — Pasi Vainikka If we transform how we farm, we change how we use land and start rewilding. That is a step towards a more biodiverse, stable planet that can also sustain the billions of lives of future generations. Just back from a few days away. Spent a couple of nights with Andrea at her house near Abergavenny (I actually stayed in a house !! ). I had a lovely time and then she drove me back to pembrokeshire yesterday and we went camping out at the lovely village of bosherston last night and then onto a nice sunday lunch today before she had to get back home. A very nice weekend with many positives to be enjoyed xxxx
