Off to look at another van in a minute that is about four and half miles away. Have received a couple of messages from local friends who have seen it for sale at the side of the road so that will be my afternoon walk sorted :-)

I drove for the first time in a month today. It wasn’t the big event I imagined. I’ll go and empty the Thetford now.

Hey Pete, I spend a lot of my life in that state (with far less reason than you have at the moment) - life can be so damned really tough, not the bowl of cherries we are told it "should" be if only we pulled our socks up. Deepest sympathies dude, wishing you enough energy to get through to the other side and hope things lift a bit for you n yours and try forgive yourself everything, absolutely everything, you can only do your best and that's more than enough - lots of love from the hippies !!!!

Just got back from a fab weekend with Bigbear & BrownMouse on the East Coast just above Kington Upon Hull - lovely quiet countryside to cliffside and the sea. First night was bible black and full of stars like you don't see in suburbia, awesome ! Got down cliffs to the beach for a long overdue paddle and some pebble collecting, slept to the sound of the waves breaking on the sand - marvellous :0) Very inspiring ...

I drove for the first time in a month today. It wasn’t the big event I imagined. I’ll go and empty the Thetford now. You really know how to live don't you? Thrill seeker. I have long thought adventure to be over-rated. I don’t actually need to look for adventure, my life is strange enough most of the time. Yes, today was the first day I was allowed to drive after my mini-stroke. Whilst out and before the return journey, I phoned a friend I haven’t spoken to for a while in the hope he was still alive. He was, but I think the pressures of the past couple of years have contributed to the divorce which has reached a rather unpleasant stage. Shame, the wedding wasn’t many years ago. The reception was fun, with my whole band being there. This afternoon two women around my age (ie not in the first flush of youth) came past very slowly in a hire boat. I thanked them for their consideration and enquired whether they planned on going through the lock. When they answered that they were I asked if they were comfortable about the procedure. I found out a few weeks ago that newbie boaters are cast off from the boatyard with very little instruction. “No!” came the reply and they accepted my offer of help. I had time to unfold my bike, pump up the back tyre and cycle the mile to the lock. They did all the actual work with some suggestions from me and were so grateful they gave me a bottle of wine. I wanted to return it since I don’t drink, but they told me to give it away if I wanted. I thought afterward of the reasons a couple of dear friends no longer drink. I guess the thought of temptation never crossed their minds. It was nice of them anyway. Immediately they’d gone on their way one of the other hire boats arrived. This time it was an adult family out for the week, so I hung around to see if they were comfortable going through. Initially they said they were fine, but they were less sure as they got closer to the lock and once again were glad of some guidance. While a dad and son were emptying the lock the other son was jamming the boat against the far bank. His understandable solution was to was to try and power his way forwards. He was heading for a grounding, so he was happy that I helped him avoid that. This is the third time I’ve seen people have problems at the lock because they didn’t have sufficient understanding of what they were trying to achieve. I guess people find a way of managing every other day of the week, but I bet for many it’s very stressful. It was nice to be able to help some people after all the help I’ve had over the past month. I also enjoyed getting on the bike for a bit of exercise. I should really get out more. I think I may risk a bit of busking later on in the week if I still feel okay, the weather stays fine and I can get my chops back up in time.

Scarborough tonight, found a good parkup out of town, & met some good people into the bargain. Couple of hours chilling & swapping tales, just off to bed now. Probably onto the North Yorks Moors again tomorrow....🐻😉

Hello afternoon all! How's it going so far with your day? This morning, I've just had a shower and hair wash and it's a lot cooler this week. The afternoon, just enjoying my usual TV show before dozing off tonight.
