This isn't so much what am I doing today as what did I do yesterday. I went out busking. I've never really enjoyed busking before, but I've decided that I really enjoyed it this time, so I shall be trying to get into the groove more often. I even earned almost enough to pay for my organic vegetables next Friday. Bonus! Awesome..i always stop and listen to buskers. You should get someone to video you and get your performance on tiktok or yootoob.Free viral publicity. Thanks, Cris. Maybe it's because I now have a repertoire that I can get behind and have an album if people want to buy one that I feel I have something to offer ... or maybe it really was how it felt - like the ultimate expression of independent performing. There were none of the hassles I associate with regular gigs ... contracts, negotiating fees, chasing payment, having to meet the promotor's or the audience's expectations ... trying to clear up afterwards without anything being nicked. Apart from that I was completely acoustic - no amplification at all. Anyone nearby was free to ignore and walk on or stop awhile and listen, drop something in the hat or not. Somehow it felt pure, honest. Is that weird? I don't think that was just adrenalin.

I looked at Iris last night and realised that she looked as though she's been sitting in a breakers yard for a decade. Black streaks from the roof, filthy and growing lichen around the windows. Today I'm cleaning her up, bringing her back to shiny yellow. I've done the worst side, the one which catches the weather, and the front and am having a break now before I tackle the other side. I wish that I could reach the roof but I can barely reach the top edge of the sides on my little kitchen steps, and stretching up makes me breathless so I faint, so I need to be careful.

parrotandcrow have you tried a soft sweeping brush for the high spots? It's what I use on te high tops, also lutons. Put some cheapo NON bleach cleaner in a spray bottle and squirt it up high. Then scrub with the sweeping brush. Rinse with a hosepipe or dip the brush in a bucket of water.

I got some window brushes from Wilco, like a small soft sweeping brush head about 6ins wide. Screw thread onto a standard brush shaft. Got a spare if you want one Maggie....🐻👍

I can't reach high enough to use them and don't have a hose. It'll be right, I'll take it down the DIY car wash and borrow some taller steps first so that I can do the roof with their hoses.

Seriously? I can reach the top of a luton with a sweeping brush. How tall is Iris? The only thing I can't easily reach is above the windscreen, as I can't stand directly in front of the body work.

My gran had a window brush when I was a lad, shaft was long enough to reach the gutters on her house...

It isn't the height, if I'm on the ground or even the mini steps, I cannot see the roof, much less bend cleaning stuff across it.

Howdy sup there guys man! How are you today? Today, I've just had my usual weekly 3 hours therapy session both online and by phone. Tonight, just resting in bed before hitting the sack.

Omg cleaned an old couples house today, 22 degrees in my house, they had the heating on turned up to 30!!!! I thought I was coming down with something. I was sweating in places that nobody should be sweating from lol! I promised the hooligans a sleep over in my bed tonight…… Dinky’s been coughing for the last two weeks so I’m not expecting to sleep much, I bought a humidifier to put near her at bed time in the hopes it will help.

My mother was like that, lightbringer even in the hottest weather she had the Aga turned up and often a wee halogen heater too. The heat made me faint.

I think it came with the Marshians when they landed near here...
