A big, big shout out to bigbear67 who came with the very lovely Jen this morning to pick me up and give me a lift to Pontefract to pick up my new-to-me car. Jen also prepared a delicious vegan curry for me. What a lovely pair of people they are. π Big Bear had told me that it was filthy but I thought that he might be exaggerating. In fact I reckon he was understating the state of it π³. For the first time in my life I'm going to find and pay a professional valet service to make the inside habitable. I'll get a price before I drop it off and let them see it.π That aside it is lovely to drive, various warning lights kept appearing but we'd checked all the fluids before I set off and I'm pretty sure that they can be sorted now that 'Uncle Buck' is home in the Ramtops. All in all, a great day. π

Took half day and went on mini road trip. Ended up on Rhossili beach for nice stroll with Rani and a pickernic. Then drove through more interesting zones of Swansea absorbing the inner city pressure on way back . According to Ranis tracker we walked 5 miles and and drove 178 miles . Nice clean beach , but I think not a good place to visit when busy , which I suspect is often . Lot of surfers , meant to be one of best places in UK according to Ma who is armchair surf expert.

[ All in all, a great day. π[/quote] . Absolutely wonderful day, lovely drive with Mister Bigbear up further Northlywards, beautiful part of the country, so good to see you and a blissful walk with fascinating creatures and educational lessons about big teenage hound handling and collie personality understanding... the green and flowering lanes took me back to my childhood and ta for your insights into unwinding back to my self and not feeling like such a messed up entity. Nice memories to share between us, hoping Wulfie n Harry are o.k., need alternative comms mebbe. Great day Maggie, so glad you're enjoying your new to you wheels ... All in all is all thanks, J x

The bloke who said that he would come and put the centre bearing on Iris is here now, doing the work. Be still, my beating heart. π

Nice beach, good sea fishing beach, it is a lot more popular with surfers and hang gliders than used to be when i first went there when i was 5. Nice all year camp site there too.One of my favourite parts of Wales.

Its one of those beaches you can catch a big variety even odd rare things. Usually bass pollock mackerel flatfish wrasse rays but plenty of others.Ive not seen processing boats bit wouldnt surprise me.Its a rich marine environment. Theres tons of shellfish along that beach I used to collect shells every time i went. Theres a lot of things like prawns starfish brittlestars sea anemones, urchins periwinkles winkles muscles clams. If you go down round Worms Head of the island at other end of beach by Llangennith and look at the pools round there youll find all kinds of things. Interesting coast. Round the worms head peninsula from Rhossili is Paviland Cave where the oldest human remains in Britain were found. The Red Lady of Paviland...actually a mans remains after further investigation. Now believed to be around 33,000 yrs old.

Iris isn't quite ready to go, I have to get the auto electrician to come and sort out my wiring which has been chewed by mice, but that is purely a matter of money. I never have any problem getting hold of him. The centre bearing is what has kept Iris off the road for so very long.

Happy Friday all! How are you? Today, just playing some games on my phone before rocking myself to sleep tonight.

There is shit loads of rock climbing there but I am past it! But good to look at still and dream

They do alsorts of adrenaline sports things there now,not just surfing. Theres a coasteeering thing now where swim along the coast deep water swimming and climb up the cliffs etc. Theres SUP (stand up paddle board) activities, kayaking, hang gliding, or just fabulous walking.I think theres something for everyone.Still have fond memories of night time beach picnics and exploring the coast. Big difference from when i first went there. I always fancied living there it was so quiet until it attracted all the wealthy and it exploded into the tourist magnet it is. Still worth exploring its one of the best coastal areas of the UK.
