I'm currently sitting in the waiting room at the dentist. Later on I'm going to see my daughter and get her some shopping.

Hope you sort out whatever is upsetting you sciatic nerve quickly. Have you got a posture belt ? keeping a good posture can make such a great difference and the belt not only helps you correct your posture if you wear it for a good while but it also stops you getting into silly positions and making those stupid yet simple little moves that agress the nerve. Lots of light walks are good too to build up mussel slowly around the nerve to protect you.
Ans as said before, if it really is too much to bare then do try stinging your leg with nettles, it worked wonders for me when mine was at its worst.
The chances are your muscles are tightened up like a knot at the mo and are squeezing the nerve so could be worth trying an extra bit of Turmeric and Black pepper in your meals as that has a good anti flamatory effect.
Hope you are back pogoing round again very soon. Good look xxxx

I have finished my gardening for the neighbours and today is my last day in Aveyron and I shall be up nice and early tomorrow morning in road mode and shall try and get about 250 miles of the 500 done tomorrow and stop off at lac de vasiviere in the Limousin before going on to Brittany. Oh its going to be nice to see the sea again :-)
I will probably not have any internet access until I get to visit my friends in Brittany so if I am not around on here for a few days, worry thee not beautiful people. Will pop in and out today as I am doing my pre-flight checks.
I hope that you are all having a great day too xxxx

Thanks IC,never heard of a posture belt, will have a looky....those demon tabs dont do much, apart from send me dopey! il give them a couple of days, but not liking the idea of what they re capable of,other than pain relief, which for me they re not good for...im on high dose curcumin.think the doc was a bit puzzled why a 50+ woman was still working at being an arborist with the pain..its easier with movement but the lugging, and lifting logs is not helping apparently,lol..have a good journey Ic xx

When my back was busted with two disks that had taken a nasty knock and had come down squishing my sciatic nerve a back specialist in the hospital looked at my x rays and told me I would be in a wheelchair for life within a couple of months. This was well over ten years ago if not 15!
What made the difference was going to see a rheumatologist afterwards as I am not one to accept negative news when I have not looked at the options. She asked me to walk slowly across the floor and after having done so said she could see the problem. She wanted me to get an all over body protector which is a big solid plastic mold that makes one walk like robocop, but there was no way I could have worked or dug toilets or driven safely in one ( they banned them in the uk years ago ) so as a second option she told me to wear a posture belt for nine months and only remove it for a few minutes a day whilst washing !! How sexy that must have been for my poor girlfriend when I had to make love in it :-o
Fairplay to her, it healed me up and I am doing more physical stuff in my life today than most people half my age can. It in many ways saved the life I knew.
They are great for healing but also for prevention too, and if you are going to be doing any lifting and getting into silly positions ( dont want to know about that )you can pop your belt on for however long you need it and honestly if you have any respect for your back it is the only sensible option.
They are not very cheap ( about fifty quid or so here ) but what price to you put on being able to live normally !!
Do make sure that you buy a new one and never accept one from someone else who has used it as they mold to the shape of your back and someone elses could do you more harm than good.
Try popping into you local chemist and ask them about them, it really is worth making the time to do so. xxxx

I was completely immobilised for a fortnight in the 90s and I didn't realise it was possible to experience so many different types of pain simultaneously. Every time I went back to the doctor the drugs got better though ... The things that I discovered were helpful were acupuncture, sacro-cranial osteopathy (I often dropped off to sleep during these gentle manipulations). Once I could manage it a friend showed me a simple exercise that really seemed to help - lying on my side with my head propped in my hand and raising both legs from the hip. Then lying on the other side and repeating. I hope you find some relief soon.
