Ive put in a lot of hours over the last three weeks. But its a struggle. I need to be careful I don't burn my self out. Been there done that. But I really really really need to work 50 hours a week for the next three months because I am planning my escape from bricks lol. I'm drinking loads of water ... I also went vegetarian but screw that it did me no good - I am not getting enough protein and im losing weight - not good. Any tips on staying awake motivated and healthy for doing three months of long hours? I don't really like red bull cola or much coffee so thats out. What can I do.. this was last months hours...  |

All my working life anything less than 12 hrs a day is classed as "half a shift"😄 Regularly used too do 80hrs plus over 7 days. Got fuck all to show for it now tho, apart from fucked up back & joints plus industrial deafness!😕....

My last 'regular' job was paid piece work. I worked 8am to 8pm monday-friday and 8am-12 mid day weekends. For two years. Eventually I snapped and offered to put the supervisor's head in the machine I operated.
I was fuelled by obsession with money but thought I could do it forever.
At least you have put a time limit to your heavy work schedule.

Yeah its a bit like piece work that I do and zero hour contract. Shit but got to do what ive got to do huh!
3 months ive given myself but thats it. Im certainly not obsessed with work or money but need to get the hell out of here.

If you're saving for a "big change" then you already have the motivation. Staying awake is another matter, try to find some long lasting boiled sweets, and if allowed some good audio books.

Yes Boaty big change indeed.
I love boiled sweets, actually my fave are Soor Plooms.
I could not get them for love nor money when I was down south but theres a wee shop up here that sells them.
I went through kilos of them when gave up smoking few years back. Might need to do that again to help me off the fags and to choke me to death when I fall asleep.
Bernie yeah the job is driving - driving me bloody crazy.

Falling asleep when driving is so dangerously easy to do, I won't drive on my own long distances in the dark any more because of that. You don't even feel yourself going. Plus motorways are hypnotic.

Ok working long hours if youre earning a shit load of money and its short term to neet an objective.
One of my friends until recently was polishing trains 50 hours a week for 22 squid an hour but its boring as fuck work.
Driving is a dangerous job if youre tired andxas Bernie said its easy to fall asleep. I used to drive artics trunking all day or all night on motorway and spent most of the journey fighting to stay awake.
Some dreams arent worth that kind of risk.
There are higher paid dull jobs about that carry no risk,except to your mental wellbeing 😕

all my working life never worked less than 60 hours per week, for what ? yes i,m comfortably off but have few long term friends and relationships both need to be nurtured but was too busy working chasing the almighty dollar, would i do it again ? NO there are no pockets in a shroud

And when I have been comfortably off in the past it didn't serve me true friendships anyway because folk just take the piss.
Friendships are transient feelings are transient and to be honest I don't know why the fucking lord put me on this god forsaken planet in the first place.
