There's lots of talk about the cashless society. I've not seen a difference between cash or card, but don't use cards very much, not every week. I take a few pounds out of the machine once a week, and spend that. There's definitely a push on the part of the banks and shops to get us to use cards. For instance, only two or three self services tills that accept cash, and many that only take card payments. I can't get away from the feeling that paying by card isn't 'real' money, and too easy. For the conspiricy theorists amongst us, card payments are easy to track. Cash is not. So, is it cash or card for you?

Cash for me, for the very reasons you've mentioned. Too easy to spend money you don't have using a card, which is well known and why the banks like it, keeps you indebted; and I don't see why my spending habits should be tracked.

Also if you don't have cash, you cannot save/ keep your money safe from being stolen by the banks and govt. Money just disappears from your account and you cannot do anything about it.
Comply or starve.

This is what made me think of this thread. I watched a video posted in the shtf thread, it was about the Great Depression in the US. People had money in the banks, they folded. Result? Destitution.

It isn't even banks folding, Vannie. Its the constant theft if large amounts of money from a vank account, for spurious charges.

And Now Cos Be Of I Not Like The Banks And Gov Knowing My Moves I Don't Be Liking Any Kind Of Paper Or Techno Trails As I Like To Be Off The Radar And Out Of Sight Of Such Things And All The Fiddling Fraud Stuff And Charges These Bank Accounts Have Is Even More A Defo No No Reason For Me To NOT Bank And Use Plastic Cards And Use Good Ole Untraceable Cash Always Instead HAHAHA:)

If i was paid in cash id probably pay for stuff in cash but it would cause me hassle as I buy virtually everything online except food as i totally loath going out shopping.I dont have credit cards only debit card and im pretty well broke a day or so after my monthly pension gets paid so good luck anyone trying to nick any.
