Hello everybody, it's nice to see you all

I was on the Tribal forum as GivingItSomeThought (Gist) and the UKHippy one as GivingItThought, I think it was, am recognising some of the usernames on here.  Thanks for adding me so quickly, I usually get scuppered by the 'prove you're not a robot' bit when I sign up to something so it was nice that everything went through so easily

Anyway, things have changed a bit for us over the last year or so.  We couldn't find a good special needs college in Hampshire (for my son) that was near enough to where we lived (and that had spaces) so we have moved back down to Devon.  He's at a good college now and is really enjoying himself; I am still struggling with 'the system'; largely because there is just so little flexibility within it so we still can't seem to get any help.  The thought of having to put him into a care home (which is a likely possibility now) is weighing heavily on me so I have the nugget of an idea of seeing if I can find a way to finance the purchase of a large property and install son and myself in it and then rent out the other rooms to people in similar situations (ie, just want a quiet life but need a bit of support to achieve that).  Just a nugget at the moment but it's giving me something to think about.  Other than that have been enjoying the beaches and just generally settling in to a new place.  So that's where we're at for now, hope everyone here is well and look forward to catching up with everyone's news xx
