Many thousands of protestors, non-violent, prepared to be arrested to draw attention to the elephant-in-the-room - climate change, and UKhippies are talking about Emma Thompson flying to the protest.
Are we sponsored by Rupert Murdoch ?
Come on people, get a grip.

Emna Thomson was just one small comment.Plenty of folk got arrested and criminal records throughout the 80's trying to stop the building of roads for increased car use that contribute to pollution and climate change but no one thought anything good of them, they were regarded as scum by most middle class Daily Mailers and it didnt stop the road building program one bit. You get a grip

Bad publicity is better than no publicity, anyone raising awareness for a cause and getting it mentioned and folk talking about it has to be a good thing. For all any of us know in 30 years time we will be glad these lot got of their arses and did something.

Protesters have 'paused' not cancelled their protest activity. They warn they may go back to the streets if they don't get what they want.

I see one of the main organisers lives in a £700,000 house, another has a daddy who is a millionaire who is fighting with his neighbours cos he wants to chop down some trees, hardly "green" is it?

BRING BACK SWAMPY - Dan if you are out there, your country needs you ;-) xx Too right...Daily Mail made out he (and all the others) was a dirty layabout scrote. Theyd be doing the same now if it was a load of scruffys and chavs protesting in the streets.

So are they disqualified from wanting to save the planet ? That's exactly the kind of populist smear that the media propagandists love to use, I thought we could all see through it.

No of course not. The thing is, the ordinary people who got inconvenienced, can't afford to take time out of paying rent and feeding kids to sit in the middle of the road singing. If you have a 700k house and chances are you can take that time out.

Not to forget that the well heeled with several homes a few gas guzzling luxury executive cars, private yachts,4x4s and jetting round the world every week are by their lifestyle choices contributing more carbon pollution than an average family might in their lifetime....then they have the front to tell everyone to think about the planet. Dump all the hypocrisy i might listen to them. Its not them who will suffer from global warming and sea rise, its the ordinary citizens of low lying islands and coastal areas who will lose homes and livelihoods. Its great having big names backing the campaign but I dont see many of them dumping their extravagant polluting lifestyles as an example.

Do you even get a 2 bedroom flat in London for 700k? In today's housing market I recon 700k would get a decent sized detached property set in less than an acre of ground. 700k won't buy a country mansion with hundreds of acres.
Even if one of the protesters FATHERS owns a country mansion how on gods green earth does that exclude his offspring from having the right to protest? Is there any other rights having a parent who owns a nice house takes away from you? Just wondering in case I build my truck nice and it affects my sons rights to protest or vote or something

They can protest all they like but if theyre going to lecture about everyone causing pollution and that it needs to be curtailed then they need to do some curtailing themselves.
Its no different to the Government telling us we all need a harsh dose of austerity because we all cost the country too much while they and their elite carry on living the highlife and robbing the country's finances.
