I saw that about the poacher a few days back, karma is a wonderful thing. I hope the lions and vultures enjoyed him.

Elephants are dangerous, as are lions, as are the armed wardens who shoot to kill.
Yet still poachers go out into the bush with a rusty rifle and a saw. Amazing what a man will do when his kids are hungry.

I'm finding it hard to feel sympathy. If tourists come to see the game, they bring their money. No game, no tourist money.

I'm finding it hard to feel sympathy. If tourists come to see the game, they bring their money. No game, no tourist money. I think we can guess where most of that money goes. Related, apparently the UK is one of the most unevenly distributed countries in the world as far as land ownership goes. 1% of the population own 50% of the land. If it was shared out equally every person in the UK would own just under an acre.

If there was no ivory poaching theyd rob tourists instead, most of them arent desperate poachers theyre occupational criminals. Got no sympathy for them if they get squished by elephants or eaten by lions.Only sympathy i have is with his family who will find it harder to survive.
There should be a global ban on non antique ivory...Its the Chinese market demand that keeps poachers busy.

There should be a global ban on non antique ivory... I thought there was? I think there was but im also sure the Chinese lifted it along with bans on some animal part 'medicines'. I know i felt pretty annoyed at the time but id have to check.
